Multiverse has partnered with Wavemaker to launch the Project Management Academy, aimed at building an even more professionalised capability within this vital skill set.

Wavemaker’s investment in this new Project Management academy comes via the Apprenticeship Levy. The 18-month programme will combine the best-in-class training with one-to-one coaching delivered by Multiverse and Wavemaker’s global team of experts. By incorporating a strong mix of technical and people skills with a blend of academic learning and practical application, attendees will master essential project management skills such as navigating complex organisational challenges and efficient ways of working.

Dan Jennings, the newly appointed Head of PMO at Wavemaker, said: “Clients want their agency partners to be professionalised in every capability. Now more than ever, it’s important for us to deliver projects that exceed stakeholders’ expectations. Getting the all-important basics of consistent, on-time, and high-quality delivery is vital. The Project Management Academy is a valuable addition to our culture, learning and development at Wavemaker, we’re proud to be collaborating with Multiverse to further enhance essential Project Management skills within our organisation.”

Jeremy Duggan, President at Multiverse said: “With digital projects becoming more complex, media budgets changing and expectations growing, the Project Management Academy will equip the Wavemaker team with those all-important skills that will increase efficiency, stay competitive and provide additional value to their customers. Professional apprenticeships offer a unique and exciting way for great companies to invest in their staff and develop leaders of the future. Unlike traditional corporate training, apprenticeship skills are taught, tested and learnt through immediate application in the workplace.”

George Mann, Senior Account Executive at Multiverse, said: “Wavemaker is getting ahead of a trend we are seeing more and more at media agencies in the UK and US: an increased focus on maintaining a highly specialised team. Whether it’s Project Management or Data Analytics, media agencies like Wavemaker are increasingly focused on developing these vital skills through apprenticeships and training.”

The virtual classroom training will be delivered by Multiverse, a start-up tech company focused on high-quality education and training through a unique professional apprenticeship model. Multiverse announced the closing of a $44 million Series B funding round earlier this year and has tripled the number of apprentices trained to 3,000 in the last twelve months.

Multiverse matches talented individuals with careers and delivers world-class training in a wide range of qualifications in leadership, digital and technology. Apprentices benefit from one-to-one coaching with an industry expert and are supported by a thriving community with events, socials, mentoring and leadership programmes designed to exceed the best of the university experience.
